Ailsa is a dedicated and passionate primary teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. She brings enthusiasm, patience, and a deep understanding of the curriculum to every lesson, whether building confidence in core subjects or preparing for the 11+. She specialises in creating a warm, supportive learning environment where every child feels encouraged, valued, and ready to thrive.
Fully Qualified Teacher
Qualified Primary Teacher with PGCE. BSc(hons) in Psychology. Enhanced DBS checked.
Primary Education Specialist & 11+ Preparation
Teaches across the primary curriculum with expertise in building confidence in core subjects. Specialises in 11+ entrance exam preparation. Creates individualised lesson plans tailored to each child's learning needs.
Warm & Supportive Learning Environment
Plans lessons individually for each student. Tailors teaching to match each child's learning style and needs. Emphasis on making learning engaging, purposeful, and fun. Provides homework marking and half-termly assessments.
Experience: 25+ years
Over 25 years of primary teaching experience. Brings deep understanding of curriculum and child development. Experienced in supporting children who need extra support, confidence boosts, or additional challenge.

Outside the Classroom
When not teaching, Ailsa's hobbies include pottery, walking her 4 dogs, and horse riding.
Availability
Ailsa is available Monday - Friday from 5pm and Saturday - Sunday morning hours.
Rate
£50ph / £48 for 45 minutes
11+ Tuition costs £60ph / £50 for 45 minutes (includes homework & marking, plus half-termly assessments)
